I've always had an appreciation for McCartney's dabbling in nostalgic musical styles such as 'Your Mother Should Know' (Beatles), 'Honey Pie' (Beatles), 'When I'm Sixty Four' (Beatles), 'My Baby's Request' (Wings), etc. The decision to reinvent a nostalgic music styling in a modern contemporary setting takes a touch of class and a risk taking spirit in my opinion.

Queen was another group that engaged early era nostalgic novelty songs and incorporated them into modern composition with tracks like 'Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy', 'Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon', 'Good Company', and 'Seaside Rendezvous'.

'Melt Me Down To Size' was an early stab at a bit of Nostalgic melody mixed with contemporary lyrics that were composed in my late teens. This track follows in line with a number of other Lazy Dynamite compositions like 'Soap Oprah Show', 'Baby Blues', 'What's In A Tear', etc.

I find the 'Nostalgic Genre' generally refers to a musical styling that would have been popularized long before any direct influence would have been possible.
