Rod Stewart was a bit of an inspiration on this track. 'I Was Only Joking', 'Your In My Heart', 'Tonight's The Night', & 'First Cut Is The Deepest'. Use to listen to Stewart Greatest Hits non-stop when I was a wee lad. Brilliant balladeer.

'Affection' is another composition written at the age of 16. First love can cripple ya but certainly inspired a great deal of music. And 16 was when I got 'emotionally crippled'.

This particular song has an entire key change mid section I edited out from this particular track. Although it added a great deal to the song, lyrically it was a disappointment and I should have come up with some new lyrics when we demoed this in Thailand.

Once stripping the song of its mid-section, it becomes a bit of a compact ditty. McCartney style.
